Today is Memorial Day, also called Decoration Day by the older set.
Whatever you call it, it is a day set aside to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation and of other nations around the globe.
By the way, every November 11, we celebrate Veterans Day. It is to honor those who are serving and have served in the U.S. military. The November date coincides with Armistice Day, the end of World War I.
Our fighting men put their lives on the line for our freedom.
They volunteer to do this.
For us. For our freedom.
Every day.
Thank a veteran today. Tell him how much you appreciate his sacrifice, and the sacrifice of those who have fought before him.
